the new film by ________ is garnering mixed reviews. some praise it as honest, realist film making, a genuine depiction of the "me against the world" aesthetic that a man in his early twenties goes through, and that its constant cliches are simply accurate representations of such a person's flaws. others call it grandstanding, tired, sophomoric drivel, and that a person of such ego as to claim writer, director, and lead actor responsibilities could never have gone through any of what his main character experiences. you be the judge this friday when the film hits select theaters nationwide. check the below listing,
    PROFESSIONAL HERO; playing this friday

(looks down, defeated) "You know", he starts, "what you do is important." He trails off at the end and she gets the idea that he is too embarrased to speak anymore. She meets the place where his eyes are set on the floor and blinks. (slow fade into track 5)

    a dream:

the velvet underground have reunited. sterling morrison is still alive, and moe tucker has had cosmetic surgery to make herself look twenty. the band seems to be marketing themselves around her new image. she is no longer the drummer, she is the primary songwriter and vocalist. the first single is horrible techno-pop called "candy girl". i am hugely disappointed until i see lou reed shooting up. then i know things will be good again. the drugs are kicking in.
